Carl Miller
Carl Anthony Miller is an author, entrepreneur, and community leader. He is a graduate of Savannah State University, where he received his B.A in English Language & Literature. He also holds a Master of Arts in Professional Communication & Leadership from Georgia Southern University, and holds an Educational Specialist degree (Ed.S.) from the University of Georgia.
Professionally, Miller has worked in the Education, Healthcare, and Government sectors. Most recently, he worked for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation as a Legislative Fellow with a policy portfolio including Health, Education, & Labor. In 2013, Miller authored his first book, It Takes Character”, a book designed to promote positive character traits among school age children.
The success of his book motivated him to begin to write more books, along with helping others to put their ideas to paper. In 2015, Carl founded, C. A. Miller Publishing Company, a regional, minority enterprise producing reading materials for audiences of color. Since its founding, the company has continued to grow and thrive.
Miller established the Bridge Builder Foundation, a statewide nonprofit organization working with at-risk and disadvantaged African American male youth, focusing on character and leadership development through education, engagement, and exposure. The youngest to serve on the board and lead the organization, Carl served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum.
He also holds memberships to several social and civic organizations, including the Prince Hall Masonic Order, Life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Rotary Club East, and the SSU National Alumni Association, currently serving as the scholarship committee co-chair. In 2023, Miller established the “Bridge Builder” Scholarship at Savannah State University. The scholarship is designed to support the retention and academic progress of Black males enrolled at the university. A man of faith, Carl Anthony Miller is a lifelong member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia, where he serves as Chairman of Deacons.
